Ronald McDonalds Hacer Scholarship(s)

Ronald McDonalds Hacer Scholarship(s) have both National and Local Scholarships.


The RMHC®/HACER® National Scholarship application for 2015 begins October 1st, 2014 and ends on January 20, 2015.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

To be eligible for a scholarship, a student must:
  • Be a high school senior.
  • Be a legal U.S. resident.
  • Be younger than 21 years old.
  • Carry a minimum 2.7 GPA.
  • Be eligible to attend a two- or four-year college or university with a full course of study.
  • Plan to enroll at an accredited post-secondary education institution during the academic year following their graduation.
  • Apply online at https://aim.applyists.net/RMHC or visit www.rmhc.org for more information. Send required supporting materials and documentation to ISTS, postmarked no later than January 20, 2015.
              The supporting materials and documentation required include: 

                       - Transcript 
                       - Personal statement 
                       - Letter of recommendation
                       - Form 1040

To apply for the RMHC®/HACER® scholarship, the applicant must have at least one parent of Hispanic heritage.

Scholarship details
Each year, RMHC®, with the support of McDonald’s, offers four $100,000 RMHC®/HACER® National Scholarships, as well as other local scholarships.
RMHC®/HACER®National Scholarships
Each year, RMHC® with the support of McDonald’s, awards four (4) $100,000 RMHC®/HACER® National Scholarships. The award is paid over 4 years ($25,000 per year), provided the student can verify enrollment at any accredited institution providing post-secondary education each year.
RMHC®/HACER®Local Scholarships
Local scholarships are generally a minimum of $1,000, although some local RMHC® Chapters may award different scholarship amounts.

Note: It is only necessary to fill out one application to participate in the RMHC®/HACER® scholarship. Students can only receive one (1) RMHC®/HACER® scholarship. If an applicant is awarded a national scholarship, then they will no longer be eligible for a local scholarship.

Scholarship recipients are selected based on:
  • Academic achievement.
  • Financial need.
  • Community involvement.
  • Personal qualities and strengths as portrayed in a personal statement.

Recipients must enroll in and attend an accredited institution in the academic year after their selection and provide verification of enrollment. Scholarship funds are paid directly to the schools, and no funds will be dispersed to students directly.
