Experience Berkeley High School Program

Stiles Hall is now accepting applications for one of their free programs called Experience Berkeley. This is for current Black, Chican@/ Latin@, & Native American high school juniors anywhere in California. This is an amazing program aimed at increasing the representation of students of color in high education, please share it widely.

Background:
EBHS is a free program that provides Black, Latino & Native American rising seniors (class of 2015) with a 3.5 or higher GPA with mentors, tools, and resources to complete a competitive UC college application and the opportunity to get a close, personal look at UCBerkeley.

Students are introduced to college life, given admissions feedback on personal statements, financial aid information, and mentoring throughout the application process during the summer and school year.


The application must be completed in one sitting and includes an essay of 1000 words answeringeither of the following:

1. How you have taken advantage of the resources & opportunities available to you 
2. Example(s) of your leadership experiences in home, school, or community OR
3. How you overcame disadvantages in particular those relating to economic, education, cultural, or physical obstacles. Please ensure you express what the disadvantage was and how you have overcome it.
