Alameda County Youth Leadership Academy

The Alameda County Youth Leadership Academy is now accepting applications.  The Academy is sponsored by the Alameda County Board of Supervisors and the County Administrator’s Office, and is a free, five-session Academy that has received statewide recognition for its commitment to youth and increasing public awareness of county programs.

The goal of the Academy is to increase knowledge of the role of County government and the critical safety-net services that we provide, develop leadership skills and encourages civic involvement in government.

The application deadline is 9/20/14, but may close sooner due to space limitations

Space is limited.   We will accept approximately 35 high school juniors/seniors who liveAND attend school in Alameda County.  Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis, with some consideration given to geographic location within the County in an effort to ensure countywide representation.  Applicants will be notified of their application status no later than September 24, 2014.

The Academy begins October 4, 2014 and continues through January 31, 2015.  Sessions are held on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to noon in various facilities throughout Alameda County.  Information about the session location will be provided on the acceptance notice.
