The De La Fuente Scholarship Foundation aims to increase the number of Oakland students enrolled in four-year universities by reducing the monetary burdens that students face in their pursuit of higher education.
Awards:
In 2014, the De La Fuente Scholarship Foundation will award scholarships in the amount of $2,000 to deserving graduating high school seniors who have been accepted into a 4- Year University and students transferring from a community college into a 4-Year University.
Scholarships will be awarded to eligible applicants who demonstrate academic achievement, financial need, and a desire to help others.
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicant must reside in the City of Oakland
Applicant must be admitted to and planning to attend a 4-year University in 2014- 2015
Applicant must be a High School senior graduating from an Oakland Unified School District Public or Charter School OR a new Community College Transfer admitted to a 4-year University
Applicant must demonstrate financial need
Selection Process:
Each submitted application will be carefully reviewed by an application review committee that will then make award recommendations to the De La Fuente Scholarship Foundation Board of Directors for final approval.

May 23, 2014 Scholarship Recipients Notified of Awards
June 5, 2014 Awards Ceremony*
