Marcus Foster Education Fund (MFEF) administers, making REAL change a diversified community investment fund exclusively devoted to the post-secondary success of OUSD graduates. Donors give to build community and change the narrative regarding OUSD, the city of Oakland and the potential of its students. Students with need apply themselves for meaningful support in launching their post-secondary career.
Scholarships range from $1000-$5000
CRITERIA & TIMELINE
Graduating high school seniors who are pursuing four-year institution, two-year institution, or trade/technical programs, are eligible to apply if they meet all of the following criteria:
- Currently an OUSD high school senior
- Attended an OUSD public or charter school at least the last two years
- Complete the FAFSA or the California Dream Act Application by the March 2nd priority deadline
- Plan to attend four-year institution, two-year institution, or trade/technical program in the fall following your graduation from high school
The DEADLINE is on March 31, 2014. We notify applicants of their award status by mid-May and all recipients are required to attend an orientation and scholarship awards ceremony.
