Kiwanis of Oakland Scholarship


The Kiwanis Club of Oakland Foundation has established academic scholarships to be made available to U.S. citizens who are graduates of Oakland’s public & charter high schools.   Scholarships are open to all graduating students.  Families with low income may be given preference.

In 2014 the Foundation will award 10 scholarships, a total of $60,000 as follows:

·      In the amount of $6,000.00 for a four year college or university.
·      In the amount of $3,000.00 for a two year community college.
·      In the amount of $3,000.00 for a two year trade school or other accredited program.

All applications will be considered carefully, and the selection committee will personally interview each approved applicant.  The awards will be based upon acceptable academic performance, financial need, character and leadership potential.

Application includes:
School transcript included           
Proof of US citizenship included  
Income & IRS information included                              
Business Income information included                           
 - A Letter of Recommendation from a teacher,
counselor or friend is recommended but not required. 


All Applications must be sent by regular mail; no certified mail will be accepted.

Please Pick up an application in the counseling office.

The applications must be postmarked by FEBRUARY 28, 2014 ( Friday )
